Student Accomplishments

Dance Arts has been very successful at competing in the Dance Masters of America Solo Title Competition sponsored by the St. Louis Dancing Teachers Association for several years.

The 2007 USAG Acro Gymnastics Championships was held in Palm Springs, California.

 

MAATT's National Championship results are:

 

  • Level 10 (15-16 Wm. Trio)  Kayla Huesgen, Megan Clemons, and Ariel Walsh - SILVER

  • Level 9  (15-16 Wm. Trio)  Kaylyn Nowack, Leah Bohl, and Maranda King - 6TH

  • Level 7  (17 & Over Wm. Trio)  Mikayla Murphy, Chelsea Boyer, and Ashley Howard - GOLD
                                                            Kayla Vance, Meghan Steineker, and Kelsey Irwin - 7TH

At the 2007 National Championships 3 members from MAATT made the Junior Olympic National Team-They include: Kayla Huesgen, Megan Clemons, and Ariel Walsh.

 

Misty Nowack:

  • 1997 Jr. Miss Dance of St. Louis

  • 1999 Teen Miss Dance of St. Louis

  • 2000 Winner of the DMA cash scholarship

  • 2001 Miss St. Louis Dance

  • 2001 She won the overall acrobatic award at the National Miss Dance Contest.

In 2002 Kaylyn Nowack was 3rd Runner-up, Amber Kottwitz was 1st Runner-up, and Kayla Huesgen was the 2002 Petite Miss Dance of St. Louis.  Kayla and Amber tied and won the acrobatic competition class.  In the 2002 National Petite Miss Dance Contest Kayla tied for the 1st place overall acrobatic award. 

In 2003 Kaylyn Nowack was 1st Runner-up in the Petite Miss division.  Leah Bohl won the acrobatic competition class in the Petite division and Amber Kottwitz won it in the Juniors division.

In 1998, the MAATT Acro Team won the National Team Award for Level 3 in Dayton, OH.  MAATT has won the 1st Place awards at both the State and Regional Championships in sports acrobatics in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003.

In 2003 Katie Bohl and Kaylyn Nowack won the competition at Team Trials in Milwaukee, WI, where they were selected to be on the USA National Team to compete at the International Freedom Cup.  There, they won the gold for the US with their Tempo routine and ended up with the silver for the All Around Title.

In 2004 Kari Blankenship & Alyssa Walsh tied with Megan Clemons & Rochelle Belloir for 1st Place at Team Trials in Crosby, TX., where all 4 were selected to be on the USA National Team & compete in Leivin, France at the Sports Acrobatics World Age Group Games Competition.  In Oct. '04  Megan Clemons and Rochelle Belloir also traveled to Winterthur, Switzerland and placed 5th.

In Aug. '05 MAATT has 7 members travel to Indianapolis, IN for the Visa Championships and all 7 brought home gold medals. They were Kayla Huesgen, Amber Kottwitz and Ariel Walsh; Tia Stone, Megan Clemons and sydnle Krause were selected to be on the Junior Olympic National Team.  In Nov. '05 Kayla Huesgen, Amber Kottwitz, & Ariel Walsh won gold in the International Freedom Cup and Megan Clemons & Sydni Krause placed 6th.

In April of '06 Huesgen, Kottwitz, and Walsh competed at the Flander's International Acro Cup in Purrs, Belgium placing 6th. In June Huesgen, Kottwitz, and Ariel Competed in the International Age Group Games in Columbra, Portugal- placing 7th in prelims.

At the '06 National Championships 9 members from MAATT made the Junior Olympic National Team-They include: Kayla Huesgen, Amber Kottwitz & Ariel Walsh; Megan Clemons & Maranda King(pair); Kaylyn Nowack, Leah Bohl & Maranda King(trio); and Jacob Krause and Rochelle Belloir
